I must confess I had a wonderful Mother's Day!! My Husband Fred brought me breakfast in bed. He is a great breakfast chef!! It was yummy! I hope everyone had a Great Mother's Day!
My Daughter, Ginger and her fiance sent me some lovely Sunflowers! They live in Chicago and being in the food industry were both working yesterday. Ginger is a train chef, but manages a high end restaurant in Chicago, North Pond. She said they had 300 reservations yesterday!
My younger Daughter Jessica came over with presents. My Grandson Dylan was all excited about his card....He drew pictures of all of us on the envelope and signed his name. He will be 6 in October and is quit a little man. He also brought me an orchid plant which Jessica said he had picked out. Jessica gave me one of those picture frames that does a slideshow of pictures. She had spent Friday and Staurday down loading pictures from her computer onto 2 cards to use in the picture frame. It is really neat!
Later Fred, myself, Jessica and my other Daughter Amy went to the Winery of the Little Hills had some wine, appetizers and sandwiches. It was around 68 degrees and sitting outside was really wonderful! A fun time was had by all.
Later that night I watched Celebrity Apprentice and did a little sewing. I've been working on my
Thimbleberries yoyos. I have 4 gallon zip lock bags full of yoyos. I've been thinking about start to assemble them into diamond shape blocks. I love the one antique yoyo quilt in Lynette's book. The blocks were diamonds with green yoyos as sashing. Lynette told me that the quilt is huge which is unusual for an antique quilt. I decided to use beiges as the sashing. I had asked her is she was ever going to put the pattern in one of her books, but she said no. She did tell me though to send her an email when I was ready to put them together and she would email me a picture. She is always so nice and treats you like she's known you for years!
I will leave you with a picture of the front of our house, all the hostas are really looking good, I can't believe how big some of them are!
